Monika Urbaniak is a Canadian artist working at the intersection of fibre and metal. Through material experimentation, she explores themes of memory, absence, loss, and transformation, giving form to the intangible.
Her practice moves between jewellery, textiles, and sculptural forms. Guided by an exploration of materials, each work evolves through a process of making in which meaning emerges, inviting reflection on memory, touch, and the traces we leave behind.
Monika holds a BFA from NSCAD University and an MFA in Craft Media from the Alberta University of the Arts, where she was awarded the Governor General's Academic Gold Medal. Her work has been exhibited across Canada and internationally, including at Munich Jewellery Week and New York Jewelry Week. She is based on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. DOWNLOAD CV
